Slowly updating. Baby steps, as the phrase goes, holds true. The only updates are found in the Recycle Bin. I’ve added “geek notes” to the projects. These basically point out what inspired the project or what algorithms were used. I’ll probably do this for some projects like those in the Recycle Bin, but not for Alpha, Beta or new projects. I’m all for the open source movement, but I don’t want to give away my secrets before my work is done 🙂 The Friends section will probably be the next section that I tackle.
For those interested, I did successfully install Windows 2000 and patched it up to Service Pack 2. So far so good. Windows 9x was beginning to wear a little thin on me. It’s hard to believe how something like Microsoft Visual C++ 6.0 SP5 can run so much better on Windows 2000 than Windows 9x. Windows 2000 networking has also been improved a lot. Setting up my Rogers@Home connection was much smoother and the performance is slightly better, too. Gaming has been the only question. Sometimes Unreal Tournament runs great; full detail and high frame rates. Other times, it appears to fall victim to the horrible DirectX “jerkiness” phenomenon. I haven’t tracked down the problem yet. Updates to follow as this story develops. I wonder how UT
would run on a WindowsXP beta…hmmmmm 🙂
