Instead of updating everyone on the status of my life and website, I’d like to take this time to offer condolences to Chico and his family. Chico’s dad passed away yesterday. The following is the write-up that appeared in the obituaries in the Timmins Daily Press:
The family announces with sorrow his death at the Timmins and District Hospital on Wednesday, November 28, 2001 at the age of 55 years. Beloved husband of Judy (nee Ruddy). Dear father of Michael Cecconi (wife Jennifer) of Sarnia and Kristopher Cecconi of Timmins. Loving son of Doris Cecconi of Timmins and Bruno Cecconi of South Porcupine. Dear brother of Jo Caughell (Bill) of Timmins, Pat Ciccone (Alvano) of Timmins, Rick Cecconi (Debbie) of Timmins and Louise Maynard (Dan) of Sutton. Brother-in-law of Gloria Ricard of St. Catharines, Myrna Charette (Paul) of Timmins, Bernie Ruddy of St. Catharines and Peter Ruddy of Timmins. Randy is survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Randy was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 88 as well as an active member of the Timmins Professional Firefighters Association. He was employed with the Timmins Fire Department for 30 years and retired as Acting Chief Fire Prevention Officer in 2000. Randy was a friend to everyone and will be loved and remembered by all who knew him. Funeral mass will be held on Friday, November 30, 2001 at 12:00 noon from St. Alphonsus Church. IN LIEU OF FLOWERS, remembrance donations to the Crohn’s and Colitis Society of Canada would be greatly appreciated. The family will recieve friends on Thursday from 6-9 p.m. at the MIRON-WILSON FUNERAL HOME, 150 Balsam St. S., Timmins.
