happy new year

Happy Holidays and Happy 2002!!!

I’m back from a short absence. I was in Timmins from December 21st to the 31st visting family and friends. Good ol’ Air Canada got me there and back, safe and sound. The security procedures at Pearson Airport were much stricter than before. It was a bigger pain in the ass but I’m glad they did it. I still haven’t figured out why I had to turn on my Handspring Visor after passing through the metal detectors, though.

It was nice to visit the north to relax and socialize. I ran into a lot of people that I haven’t seen for a while and it was good to see them. Of course, I saw a lot of people that I wasn’t all that excited to see, as well. That’s to be expected, I guess. I ate a lot. When my parents’ are paying for the food, I have no problem with making a pig of myself 🙂 I figured I should eat more since I was told that I look too skinny by way too many people. I have a metabolic rate that hasn’t slowed in 25 years. It’s not my fault 🙂

Highlights? Nah, the whole trip was a highlight. It was just nice to relax, hang out and not have to think about code, Mastercam or Microsoft Exchange Server development. Krista Presseault’s stag was ok, but was not what Chico, Pat, Barry and myself had thought it would be. In a way, it was ok that it didn’t turn out the way we imagined 😉 It was nice to see my cousin, Paul and Marc Seguin (who I sat with on the plane to Timmins), too. But it’s nice to be back in Kitchener with Dena, who made it back safely from Crystal Falls in our uber car. In four years, we have not had the chance to spend Christmas together, but she got me a shiny new DVD player this year 🙂

Well, I should get to work on finishing up some more sections on this website o’ mine. I’ll organize the .plan archives a little better, too. Stay tuned…
