it's almost like i'll be at e3

I think my work for Barry‘s CD is done. No slick programming required…just down ‘n dirty stuff. Figure out where directories on any given system are, copy some files, launch some stuff; dig up Win32 API functions that I haven’t used in a while. I haven’t seen the totally finished product yet since I don’t think Barry‘s sent them off to be burned. However, if you’re lucky enough to be at this year’s E3 in Los Angeles, go to Dreamcatcher Interactive‘s booth and ask for one or look for Barry himself. He’ll probably be the guy tossing the CDs at passers-by. You can then marvel at my l337 coding abilities as a bunch of SWF files are stealthfully copied to your Windows‘ temporary directory and as well as the other behind-the-scenes things my apps on that CD do. Oh, and Barry‘s Flash movies look pretty good, too 😉

Dena’s section of this site is coming along. I’m working on layout and graphics for the most part right now. I’m also tackling the nitty-gritty server side stuff for her “rant” section. I love Perl.

In more Dena-related news (which relates to me), she’ll be vacationing up in the sprawling metropolis known as Crystal Falls, Michigan to visit her family and friends in a couple of weeks. This will leave me alone in Kitchener for ten days to get in all sorts of trouble. Actually, I was thinking of using that “me” time to dabble a little with DirectX programming. I figure I’ll start with something small like 3D geometry creation and manipulation. Then, maybe, I’ll move on to some animation. Will it turn into a viable 3D app or game? I dunno. Maybe I’ll make something to rival Everquest. Then again, I wouldn’t want someone killing themsevles over it like that off-balanced guy in Wisconsin did last month. You don’t know what I’m talking about? Read this article. I just want to see what I can do with DirectX. I’ll post any projects I finish somewhere in the Digital section like in Downloads, Recycle Bin or Null World. Hey, it’s all in the name of research and stuff 😉

Are you watching the second round of the NHL playoffs? You should be.
