bycks come to the temporary bachelor pad

May 18, 2002 under Hockey, Life, Sports

Well Dena is in Crystal Falls for the next 10 days. On my first weekend as a bachelor, I’ve gotten my haircut and even smacked the ball around at the driving range. I need to get my swing in shape for the Cambridge Big Sisters Charity Golf Tournament on May 26. The bad thing about taking the first swings of the season are the blisters. Ouch.

I just completed a brutal week at work. We hired consultants to migrate data from our old domain controller/Exchange Server to a new server. I was originally supposed to watch and absorb. Well after some late nights and lots of hard work, I found out that I was quite the factor in the project. Did the company get their money’s worth from these consultants? I’m not so sure, but I’m constantly and, lately quite frequently, being made aware that I’m quite the bargain 😉 I’ll hopefully have the energy to work on Dena’s site and some DirectX apps soon. I realized that I need to re-read my Computational Linear Algebra text book. The required mathematical concepts of matrices, linear transformations and orthogonal projections are tucked deep in the back of my brain, lost but not forgotten 😉

Pat is coming to visit today. Him, his parents and his younger brother are visiting Kitchener to tour the University of Waterloo. For those not in the know, UW is the university to go to if you plan on majoring in a field such as Math, Computer Science, Engineering or any applied science. UW is one of Pat‘s brother, Jason’s, options. He should have no problem getting in. Although UW is quite the prestigious school (in the league with M.I.T.) and is difficult to get in, the kid is smart as a whip. Maybe he could be the next Brad Lushman 🙂

Go Leafs!
