Well the Wings won the Cup. Ugh. With the highest payroll in the NHL, they damn well should’ve won it. But that doesn’t explain what happened to the other high-priced teams like the Rangers, Flyers and Stars. Oh well. Within a couple years, the Wings will be in the same spot they were at in the eighties when all they had were Steve Yzerman, Glen Hanlon and no playoff hopes. Their bandwagon has had a long run, but I think it’s trip is coming to an end. I hope all those supposed Wings fans out there realize that Detroit was only known as “hockeytown” after they won their first cup from the nineties.
Warcraft 3 just went gold so I’ll be expecting a call on July 3 from the EB in the Fairview Mall here in Kitchener, informing me that my reserved copy is ready to be picked up. It should tide me over until Unreal Tournament 2003 is released at the end of the summer. Then I’ll be busy with UT2003, both playing it and developing mods and such for it.
A light weekend is ahead of Dena and I. My parents have gone back to Timmins and we’re all kicked in after their visit. A peaceful weekend is just what we need.
