coder wh0re

Mr. Frankel‘s latest .plan update bums me out. Most of the code that’s been spewed from my brain and fingertips in my young career has been for someone else. Other people make money from it, whether it’s being sold or used to generate profit. But then I step back and think about this for a sec. I don’t see software development as a form of my self-expression, or at least not directly. For me, I see software development as a form of problem solving. Someone needs something accomplished that they couldn’t do otherwise and I make it happen. I guess the act solving problems is my form of self-expression. Who would’ve thought of the metaphysical questions that can arise in such a geeky profession 😉 I’m still looking for a good Source Forge project to join. Either way, I’d hate to think that this is the end of Winamp.

Barry got a new site with a new host and a new domain; http://www.enterthechapel.com. Pat looks to have something happening over at http://pabyck.tripod.com mostly courtesy of Barry, I guess.

Oh and my parents are residents of Kitchener now.

PS: Any CGI apps on my site don’t seem to work right now due to Tripod‘s constant tinkering with their servers. Hopefully they’ll sort themselves out soon.
