It appears that Pat has updated his website, which is good to see. I’m not quite sure if I follow what’s going on, though. Take a gander at the pic on his front page. Ga?
Pat et Ghyslain sont-ils la meme personne? Peut-etre.
Compare the action shot of Pat with the now-famous Ghyslain video. Hell, compare it to that improved version of the video that a dude from Raven did, and you’ll see what I mean 😉
On a side note, I feel bad for that Ghyslain kid; he probably had self-esteem issues to begin with. Imagine now. If he can find a silver lining in the iPod that he scored, maybe he’ll be on the road to recovery.
PS: The new Jane’s Addiction album, Strays, is rawktacular. It’s nice to have some new material from them since the last JA-related thing I got was that Gift movie that my cousin got me for my sixteenth birthday. Strays is another one of those Copy Protected CDs, just like Radiohead‘s Hail To The Thief. Fear not, for it’s quite easy to rip. No, I don’t rip ’em for the P2P apps. I don’t bother bringing CDs to work, so it’s MP3 for me. Also, Capitol‘s inclusion in the jewel case of a little Keep Music Coming flyer with a URL that points to this useless site is just lame, IMO.
Tomorrow is I Day (‘I’ stands for ‘implementation’) for a few projects that I worked on for Krug. Yikes. Code don’t fail me now.
A professor of mine from university is on sabbatical until September 2004. I wonder what he’ll be working on. He was big into AI and genetic algorithms.
I don’t normally gush about a restaurant, but here goes. Out of laziness, last
night Dena and I decided to go out to eat. Dena suggested the new Keg opened up in Cambridge near my office, so that’s where we ended up.
Neither of us had ever been to one. Neither of us knew anybody that had been
to one. My dad came close to eating at one in Winnipeg a few years back, but didn’t make it in due to
an insanely long waiting line. Now, I’m not a big meat eater. I’m not a vegetarian or vegan, either. But for the
most part, my diet consists of pasta, rice and vegetables. Let me tell you,
if you want a steak done right for a reasonable price, The Keg is the place to go.

The answers to the questions of my yearly performance review at work:
2. Causes for concern?
All three of my Carnack-like predictions were correct. Gh3y.
Where have I been? Who cares, really. For those that need to know for one reason or another, I’ve been reading. There you have it. That’s it. Nothing more than reading and stuff. You can’t get a hold of me at work? ICQ is off. Email is being sorted by project. Unrelated email has been filing into a buffer that I’ve been neglecting (you’d have slightly better chances @ home). I’ve been busy. Should I even bother to be busy after being vastly underpaid (but apparently appreciated) for three years? Sure. Pride in my work. Plenty of projects to be done for unrelenting clients. Miss me? Odd. I still have plenty to read and do. You must be busy, too. Busy on.
I like ConTEXT and Dena’s fruit salad whilst evaluating big-oh’s and listening to smart music.
It’s that time of year again. Like Johnny Carson, I shall become the Great Carnack.
[holding the envelope to my forehead]
“Good”, “none” and “two-thousand”.
PS: I like “Slanted & Enchanted” on damp and dreary days.
This is will be my after-work routine for some time to come now:
1. Change out of horrendous business-casual work clothes into normal clothes.
2. Eat supper.
3. Play with cats.
4. Play with Dena.
5. Play a shitload of Frozen Throne.
As I did with Reign of Chaos, I’m playing Frozen Throne‘s single-player campaign first, before mixing it up on BNet. Nobody does over-the-top story telling like Blizzard does and their CG movies are always top-notch. In short, I deem Frozen Throne to be a wicked expansion pack.
I won’t waste my life playing games, though. So my mind doesn’t turn to mush, I’ve finally picked up Programming Pearls after hearing much praise about it.
It’s supposed to be 35 degrees Celsius (that’s 95 Fahrenheit for you Yankee Doodle Dandies on Independance Day) today and we’re golfing at Puslinch Lake Golf Club. With Southern Ontario’s typical amount of humidty, it’ll probably feel like 40 degrees. Wack. Ugh. Wack. Ugh. Wack. [the sound of my dehydrated self hittin’ the ground]
Happy 136th Canada Day!
Our company had yesterday off, but have to work today. I think that may be illegal or something.
