i think itunes isucks

Like I mentioned yesterday, I’m not one who is easily influenced by hype-machines. Should I jump on the hell-freezing-over band wagon? Hmmm, nah. iTunes for Windows? The best Windows app ever? Steve Jobs must have a big-ass cauldron full of hype that’s bubblin’ like, um, bubblin’ hype. This is not unlike everything else that Apple has ever done. But c’mon, “the best”? I don’t think so. Apple is often reiterating that it’s free. Well, that’s a plus since Mac owners have to shell out mega bucks for their computers to begin with. I tried iTunes and I don’t like it personally. Sure it has a portal to Apple‘s paid music downloads and now gives Windows users a reason to get a geek-chic iPod. That’s all fine and good. But do I need to sacrafice 11MB of RAM for this, the best Windows app ever? I don’t think so. I’ll stick with Winamp 2.91 (also free), which is apparently NOT the best Windows app ever. If I want to download purchased music, I don’t need a portal; I can use PureTracks and keep my cash in Canada at the same time (Visa is an American company and it shows). Also, Winamp 2.91 barely uses 2.5MB of RAM while it’s running on my system (Winamp 3 used 5MB). What’s the definition of the best Windows app ever? Let the hype-machine roll, Steve-O.
