end of the vow of silence

June 14, 2004 under Computers, Life

Well, since I no longer need to keep my vow of blogging silence, I can post again 🙂

Dena wants me to mention about our trip to Crystal Falls. It was, well, Crystal Falls. Did the graduation thing with her brother, Justin and the family. Did the wedding reception thing for her friend Jodie and cousin Brad and the family. Watched the playoffs on, ugh, ESPN. Drinking contests, wood tick self-exams and a delayed plane in Detroit. A nice break, one could say.

I still don’t have a computer at home 🙁 It’s been hard to find out for sure where exactly my motherboard is right now. Hopefully I can get a definitive answer today.

I picked up two new albums last week; Sonic Youth‘s ‘Sonic Nurse’ and Local H‘s ‘What Ever Happened to P.J. Soles?’. Both, while different from each other, are superb albums.

Dreamcatcher once again has not paid me for work that I did for them. Once again, the apps that I developed for Dreamcatcher‘s product CD at E3 were used. This time the work wasn’t contracted out to Barry (why would a company contract out work to one of their employees anyway), but was an actual thing that Barry had to do as part of his employment at Dreamcatcher. In this case, it’s Dreamcatcher that pays and not Barry. Surprise surprise, Dreamcatcher hasn’t payed me and it’s been about six weeks. Does everyone remember the trouble I had last year in getting Dreamcatcher to pay me for coding that I did for them? Barry says that it’s Dreamcatcher‘s policy to pay its bills only when it becomes an issue. So once again, I say fuck Dreamcatcher! Do not buy any games from them. If you absolutely have to have one of their games, steal it and give 1/4 of the retail price to the store and 3/4 of the retail price to the developer of the game.

It would seem that all is back to normal 😉
