doomed

October 10, 2004 under Computers, Software

I took my time, but I finally ended Doom3. The only time I played it was at night with the lights off and the sound up. On top of that, I took my time to enjoy the scenery and ambience. In the end, I think Doom3 was a visually stunning FPS with a better-than-most story line. There were plenty of creepy junctures and jump-out-of-your-seat moments. All in all, the folks at id did a super job at maintaining the glory behind the Doom franchise as well as raising the bar in terms of 3D graphics. It was worth the $65.00 that I spent at Futureshop. Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic even came bundled with it, but I haven’t taken a look at it yet.

I think UT2K4 will continue to be my online shooter mainstay until Half-Life2 is released.

Happy Oktoberfest folks!!! Willkommen!!!

I’ve taken some weird tests in my day, but the GLAT from Google ranks pretty high. I found it as an insert in the latest issue of Communications of the ACM. It’s also available online, though. Check it out, it’s four pages long; page 1, page 2, page 3 and page 4.

hockey is hockey

October 5, 2004 under Hockey, Sports

Saw a Baby Leafs blue and white game at the Aud on Saturday. Matt Stajan looks skinner than me. Hockey is hockey and you gotta take in what you can in these times of lockouts.

My headache of last week returned for the entire weekend. So if at some point my blog entries stop, I’m probably hospitalized for encephalitis or something.
