they tell me that i saw the pixies

November 25, 2004 under Life, Music

I saw the Pixies last night at Arrow Hall in Mississauga. In tow (along with myself) were Dena, Pat & Jen, Barry & Esther, et al.

The Marble Index and The Datsuns opened up and I wasn’t really into either of them. I’m sure everyone was there for one reason; to see the Pixies. And they delivered. Every song was tight and they played a lot off of Come On Pilgrim, Surfer Rosa and Doolittle but kind of ignored Bossanova and Trompe Le Monde a little bit. But from Bossanova they did play “Velouria” which made Dena extremely happy and from Trompe Le Monde they did “Planet Of Sound” and “U-Mass”. All in all, it was an excellent show and I’m glad I was fortunate enough to finally see them. The only blemish on the evening is that I’m still fighting with pneumonia and I was uncomfortable, achey and tired for the majority of the concert. You don’t plan on having pneumonia when you buy the tickets seven months prior to the event, but I wasn’t going to miss this. Death to pneumonia! Long live the Pixies ! 🙂
