hockey's back

October 5, 2005 under Hockey, Sports

Finally!

Back to normal. Back to the way things should be at this time of year. There are some who say we should be firm in showing our disapproval in how the lockout went down. They say we should essentially boycott the league and ignore them. Well those people are probably the kind who make a bee-line to the Arts and Leisure section of the newspaper and aren’t NHL fans or fans of hockey in general.

America sucks, no hockey games on 15 games and not a one showing in America that I could find…the Flyers game which they lost was suppose be Nation coverage…but I guess somebody forgot to turn it on :(. Hockey for me is normal..I should move to Canada where I can actually watch hockey :D.

Hockey coverage in the US is anemic. At least NBC is slated for 30 games or so. Mind you, in Canada we’ll get those NBC games too. Then there’s the two Hockey Night In Canada games on Saturday nights on the CBC as well as the token Habs game on the French CBC. On Wednesday’s, TSN has one game; sometimes two. I can’t forget about the couple of games on Sportsnet sprinkled throughout the week. And if you subscribe to digital cable or digital satelite, then you’ll get games on NHL Network and LeafsTV (only for Ontario residents). In Canada, Center Ice is only for those with no life and lots of money to burn.

The answer to US hockey fans’ prayers can be summed up in three words; Canadian satelite TV.

In your case, you could just ask your Canadian brother-in law to catch you up on what you’re missing 😉
