i hate the patriots

February 7, 2005 under Football, Sports

The wrong team won the Super Bowl again. And the worst part was that they pre-empted The Simpsons.

this is football weather

January 24, 2005 under Football, Life, Sports

Yesterday was a bad football day for me. None of the teams that I was cheering for won. Given the current choice, I’m cheering for the Eagles 😐

Southern Ontario, as well as other parts of the continent, had some winter weather issues over the past couple of days. As usual, the greater majority of people here in southern Ontario either drive like they’ve never seen snow before or like the snow doesn’t actually exist. I’ve said this before, I’m saying it now, and I’ll probably be saying it again in the future. And yeah, it was cold, but for those from northern climates it shouldn’t seem that cold. My mom was freaking out over -30° Celsius for a couple of days. A couple of days. In Timmins, where she’s lived 97% of her life, it’s consistantly -30° for at least two months of the winter. Dena thinks it’s freezing too. Albeit, Crystal Falls probably isn’t as cold as Timmins in the winter for the most part, but it sure is much colder than Kitchener. I guess people acclimatize at different rates.

colts need a tonne of something

January 17, 2005 under Football, Life, Politics, Sports

I guess the Colts still aren’t a cold weather team 🙁 For the next round, I’m rooting for the Steelers and the Falcons.

Dena and I are resolving to try our best to help the environment. The federal governement set up a Climate Change department. Get your free copy of the Tips Guide for the government’s One-Tonne Challenge. We already do a lot of things mentioned in the guide like carpooling and recycling. Now we’re trying out the little things that might make a difference, such as energy efficient light bulbs.

boobs (gets anyone's attention)

February 2, 2004 under Football, Life, Sports

We finally get a good game in the Super Bowl that comes down to the wire, except for the fact that the Pats won, and the biggest story out of it is Janet Jackson’s “falling out”. Folks, my theory is that Janet’s “unveiling” was planned. I can’t name a single off of her last album and I can’t think of a better way to boost a celebrity’s, ahem, public exposure. Honestly, who wears spider-like metallic areolae shields?

calling it as i see it

January 19, 2004 under Football, Sports

Dead Alive was also on Scream last Friday, immediately after Evil Dead 2. Dead Alive was directed by Peter Jackson. He’s known for directing all of the Lord of the Rings movies, but Dead Alive is a treat 😉

You have to try Unibroue‘s Trois Pistoles. It’s the perfect way to celebrate the end of a week of coding, or whatever it is that you do. Be warned, that’s 9% APV in there.

I hope the Carolina pound the hell out of Tom Brady in the Superbowl. I would rather see the Colts there because I think Payton Manning is an awesome QB and it would’ve been kewl to see fellow Canadian Mike Vanderjagt in the Superbowl. Go Panthers!

November 17, 2003 under Football, Life, Sports

A haircut was had. I no longer need to constantly tuck my hair behind my ears to keep it from falling into my face. Like you all care 😉

Anybody see the Grey Cup last night? Great game!

a superbowl worth watching

February 4, 2002 under Football, Sports

Finally, a Super Bowl worth watching. Normally the Super Bowl ends in a blowout like 42-7 or something but not this time. Dena and I were cheering for the Patriots because her Detroit Lions were out of contention a long time ago and we like to cheer for the underdogs. Even though it looked as if the game’s momentum favored the Rams late in the 4th quarter, it was nice because it was a close game worth watching. But New England won, so all is right and just in the world. Well, a little more than usual 🙂

Oh, and yes I know that Tripod has seemed to have found a way to thwarte my method of avoiding those pop-ups. Shhh…I’m workin’ on it 😉
